Creating the cover page for the Strawberry themed March Bullet Journal.

I always love March because it marks the start of spring.

I chose strawberries for a couple of reasons: firstly, they’re in season during March, and secondly, March happens to be my birthday month, and strawberry cake is my absolute favorite.

I kicked off with the cover page. It took me a while to decide how I wanted it to look.

Eventually, I settled on drawing a strawberry tart in the center. After many sketches with lots of erasing and redrawing, I finally had a sketch of a fruit tart adorned with four strawberries on the side and one on top.

To add color, I used my acrylic paints because I like how they blend.

I began by painting the cream with a very light beige color. Alternatively, you can use a very light pink or yellow.

For the tart, I used an ochre brown for the base and a burnt sienna brown for the tart lines. To lighten the top of the tart, I mixed some of the lighter brown with beige. 

For the strawberries, you’ll need a vivid red and a dark green for the stems.

I wanted to give them depth, so I used a darker shade for the shadows and a lighter reddish-pink for the highlights. Of course, you can use just one shade if you prefer.

As for the seeds, I debated over which color to use.

Black seemed too dark, and white felt too bright.

Eventually, I settled on using a light pink for the seeds.

Lastly, I added a light grey line underneath the tart to create a shadow effect. I also scattered a few extra strawberries around the page.

For the title, I used a dark green marker to contrast with the red strawberries.

Next up is the calendar. Typically, I make a monthly calendar, but this month I opted for a daily spread.

I divided each week across two pages. For each day, I created a red frame and wrote the date in green marker.

I also included a small monthly calendar, labeling the days of the week and marking the current week.

And, of course, I decorated it all with strawberries.

Adding a “To do” page, an “Expenses” page, and a “Tracker” page to the bullet journal.

For the To-Do page, I kept it straightforward with just the title and a few decorations.

If you’re feeling fancy, you can add some color to the lines for a little extra flair or use strawberry symbols as bullets for your tasks.

Moving on to the mood trackers. I kept the habit tracker simple.

Using the green marker, I wrote the page title and used a lighter green for the categories.

For each habit, I created a small calendar, marking each time I complete the habit.

I also added a water tracker to monitor my daily intake.

For the mood tracker, I drew a page filled with strawberries. Each strawberry has the date written in the center and faces in different directions.

Every day, I’ll color one strawberry according to my mood.

Lastly, there’s the expenses page. I wrote the title and decorated the pages with cute strawberries.

To add some color, I used a pink marker to color every other line. Finally, I labeled the columns, and it’s good to go!

To add color to the spread, I opted for acrylic paints. You’ll need various shades of brown, red, green, and beige.

My go-to brands are Stamperia and Winsor & Newton, each offering a unique range of colors. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a link to the exact shades from Stamperia, likely because it’s been some time since I purchased them.

However, for a similar look, keep an eye out for colors like Cadmium Red, Crimson, Raw Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Sap Green, Beige, light pink, and grey.

To mark my moods and to write the titles I used Tombow’s 755 Rubine Red, 772 Dusty Rose, 757 Port Red, 803 Pink Punch, 847 Crimson, 761 Carnation, 249 Hunter Green, 158 Dark Olive.

Also I used Stabilo’s 88/40 Red. To outline everything, I used the SAKURA Pigma Micron 01 Fineliner Pen to give it that finishing touch.
