Out of all the ornaments for the Christmas tree, Snow Globe Ornaments (clear balls filled with “snow”) are, to me, the most unique and festive. The options for what you can add inside are endless! Different decorative elements, various types of faux snow, and countless possible combinations allow you to create one-of-a-kind ornaments, transforming your tree into a display of personality and style. Let’s make a Snow Globe Ornament together!

Creat a Snow Globe Ornament with Pearly Snow and Winter Branches

To begin, you can choose between plastic or glass balls, whether round or with designs, that open either from the side or from the top.

Personally, I chose plastic balls that open in the middle, as they are more economical, durable, and easy to fill.

For the first Snow Globe Ornament, I decided to add a small, plastic branch. I found a lovely winter branch in the perfect colors.

I cut three small twigs and glued them together to create a little composition. For the “snow,” I decided not to use the classic fine snow, but instead some beautiful pearly foam beads in white and pink, which really give it a special touch.

Since I had recently bought two Christmas velvet ribbons, I was eager to use them somewhere.

For this ball, I decided on the pastel green one, as it matched harmoniously with the other colors.

Using a hot glue gun, I attached the ribbon around the seams of the ball to hide them.

Later, I thought I could have cut the end of the ribbon in half to glue it to the right and left sides of the ball’s seam.

No big deal, though, as it doesn’t show at all when it’s hanging.

Finally, the ball needed a little bow. I cut a small piece of ribbon and glued the two ends (about halfway down their length) together, then glued the middle of the loop to the seam.

If your ribbon has any lettering, make sure the bow aligns with it.

Creat a Snow Globe Ornament with a Hanging Element

In the second ball, I added a small hanging decoration.

To do this, I opened a hole in the plastic surface of the ball—don’t worry, it’s not hard! Just heat a metal needle or paperclip over a candle flame, and gently press it into the plastic until it opens a hole.

Once you make the hole, clean any residue and hang the decoration with thread or fishing line.

Then, fill it with faux snow, and the ornament is ready. I finished the decoration with a red ribbon for a more striking and festive touch.

With just a few simple steps and materials, you can create your own handmade snow globes, adding your personal festive touch to the tree.

Each ornament becomes unique and brings a special sense of warmth and joy to the holidays!
