After all, who wants to spend hours on intricate designs during a summer heat wave?

So, I decided on a boat theme! Remember those simple boat drawings we used to do as kids? Yep, that’s exactly where we’re headed.

Grab your trusty brown marker and let’s draw the boat’s body. It’s an easy and basic design that will instantly bring back some childhood memories.

For the sails, I wanted to add a pop of color to the design! Instead of the usual white or grey, I went with a lovely light yellow.

Doesn’t it just remind you of a boat gliding on a sunny day?

Of course, we can’t forget the sea! Let’s add a few wavy lines beneath our boat. Initially, I thought about putting the boat inside a blue border, but I decided to go for a more minimalistic approach to keep things fresh and clean.

Oh, and don’t miss the little flag on top of the mast, sporting some cool dark blue tones! To mark the month, I used the same blue shade to write “August.” It just feels so fitting for the summery vibe we’re going for.

Crafting the Calendar and Expenses Tracker for Your Simple August Bullet Journal.

If you remember the July calendar, I ran out of space and had to cut it down to 30 days. But this time, we’re kicking off with the number 31, using similar tones from the previous month’s calendar.

It’s a little trick I do when I don’t have enough space for an extra day and I don’t want to change my design.

Okay, so I debated whether to create a to-do list for August, but hey, even in the summer, we’ve got a few things to take care of, right? Hopefully, not too many.

So, I decided to go for it! Using that same lovely blue from the cover, I wrote the title and with a lighter shade I made some lines for jotting down my tasks.

At the bottom of the column, I couldn’t resist adding another adorable boat. Yep, I used different colors this time, but feel free to stick with the previous markers we used.

I followed my tried-and-true method, but here’s the twist: no columns this month!

You see, I wanted to add a charming little boat on the second page, and those columns would have gotten in the way.

As the summer heat rolls in, I find myself guzzling water like never before, so I decided to skip the water and exercise trackers this time.

After all, I’d much rather be sipping a drink on the beach! But don’t worry, I didn’t forget a tracker altogether. We’re keeping the mood tracker for sure!

I sketched a big boat and divided the body into 31 pieces, one for each day of the month.

Let’s decorate it with some adorable little flags to add a burst of color.

I even included a cute cabin, but I had to make a few changes along the way. At first it had a window, but I didn’t like the way it looked so I filled in with the brown marker. That’s all part of the creative process!

Lastly, I wrote the dates on the mood tracker and to make everything really stand out, I went over the outline of each boat with a marker. It gives them that perfect finishing touch and makes the whole spread pop!

For the expenses page I used 555, 947,850, 020, 443.

Lastly, in the mood tracker I used the 555, 947, 850, 905, 020, N89, 443, 026, 899, 947, 933
