It is lovely, easy to make, and very fun! This Duck Spinner Card is great for several occasions like Easter, spring, baby showers, and birthdays. Which one will you choose?

Preparation to make the Duck Spinner Card.

To make your Duck Spinner Card, you start by assembling the two ducks, following the die’s instructions.

Because one of them is the mirror image of the other, you just need to glue your die cuts from the “wrong side”.

Don’t worry that the markings of the die will be off. You won’t even notice it.

One thing you should be very careful of when gluing the parts is to align the beaks of the two ducks perfectly. First, you glue the brim to the one duck, and then you put the two figures back to back together. Now you know where to add glue.

As for the legs, I glued them only on one die cut because it was easier. But I added two layers of paper to make them sturdier.

Lastly, I added a small piece of white paper behind the eye because I wanted them to have a white dot in the center.

The most important part of your card is now ready!

Making the Duck Spinner Card.

For the base of the card, you will need a folded card base and a piece of cardstock half as big.

I unfolded the card base, put on top of it the card stock, and placed the circle die in the center, securing it with a piece of washi tape.

Then I passed them together through my Sizzix machine. That way, the two circles are perfectly centered together.

I chose to keep the background a simple white color so that the duck would pop out.  

But since I wanted to make the card more interesting and to give it some texture, I used a scallop embossing folder.

Now that the card base is ready, it is time to make the spinner mechanism. 

For this, I put double-sided tape on the back of the duck and then placed on top of it a large piece of fishing wire. 

Then I glued a second piece of double-sided tape on top of it. Basically, the fishing wire is sandwiched between the two pieces of tape. I did this to make sure that the wire was secure. 

After that, all you need to do is add some glue and put the second duck on top of it.

All that is left to do is to attach the fishing wire to the card.

Again I used double-sided tape on the embossed card, glued the wire, and added more tape on top of it.

Then I glued the card on the card base, making sure that the two circles aligned perfectly. Your card is now ready.

I chose not to add a sentiment, but I gave it a little more color by adding flowers. It really gives a happy spring vibe and I love it!

Materials I used for the card.

For the little duck, I used the Spellbinders DUCK WITH UMBRELLA Etched Dies. Of course, with that, you will need a thin fishing wire from your local hardware store. Otherwise, you can use thick thread.

For the background, I used the Spellbinders Embossing Folder SCALLOPS.

To cut out the circle I used the Sizzix Framelits Die Set. You can certainly use any circle die, as long as it is big enough for the duck to spin. Approximately you will need the diameter to be 7,5 cm ( 2,953 inches).

Lastly, for decorating, you can use any flower die you have or even paint splashes or sticker gems. I used the flowers from the  Spellbinders UMBRELLA BLOOM Etched Dies.

For the flowers and the leaves, I used Spellbinders’ colored papers: WILD BERRY, PINK SAND, and FERN COLOR.
