Pink, girly and absolutely fun! Barbie movie inspired cards really are every girl’s dream!

 How to make a “Let’s go party” fuchsia card.

With the Barbie frenzy sweeping the scene, it was impossible for me to resist the urge to create something girly and pink, just like the iconic doll herself.

However, indecision struck, and I ended up crafting two unique designs that capture the essence of Barbie’s world.

The first card pays homage to the famous “Barbie Girl” song. Instead of opting for the conventional Barbie lettering, I chose to play with an alphabet die that exudes a bold and intense aura.

While rounder letters could evoke a more traditional Barbie look, I personally adore the font I selected for its distinctive flair.

Precision is key when working on any project, so I employed a triangle ruler as a trusty guide for placing the letters in a neat and straight alignment.

As an extra touch of sparkle, I incorporated pink and black glitter hearts.

I embraced a spontaneous approach by placing them on the card without adhering to a particular pattern, letting their arrangement unfold organically.

Once everything was glued into place, the card was ready to shine.

It effortlessly transitions from a congratulations or birthday card to an alluring party invitation, showcasing its versatility and creative adaptability.

For the second card, I opted for a softer shade of pink, ensuring to keep the girly theme alive.

To add some texture, I decided to emboss half of the card using a delicate floral embossing envelope. The result is an understated floral pattern that emanates elegance and charm.

While I initially envisioned incorporating a pink checkered paper reminiscent of Barbie’s iconic dress or a splash of fuchsia glitter, fate had other plans.

Without the desired materials at hand, I embraced the challenge and introduced black stripes to the design. These stripes were not pre-made, so I took matters into my own hands and cut them to size.

To seamlessly meld the embossed and striped sections of the card, I introduced a satin pink ribbon down the center.

This not only added a luxurious touch but also masked any imperfections that might arise from combining these two distinct elements.

The finishing touch was a dainty bow, nestled perfectly in the middle.

And there you have it – a beautifully crafted second card that radiates simplicity and grace. Its timeless design ensures it’s suited for any occasion, from birthdays to anniversaries and beyond.

Supplies you will need to make the Barbie movie inspired cards. 

For the fuchsia pink card’s background, I used the WILD BERRY COLOR ESSENTIALS CARDSTOCK.

For the alphabet I used Sizzix ABSTRACT ELEMENTS Thinlits Dies and for the hearts I used the Sizzix Framelits Die Set, but really any heart die will do. If you don’t have a die, just cut the shapes with a pair of scissors.  

You will also need some black glitter paper.

For the pink card with the floral background, I used Spellbinders’ FLOWER FRENZY 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER and the PINK SAND COLOR ESSENTIALS CARDSTOCK. 

 You will need some pink satin ribbon. The one I link is very similar to the one I used.

If you want to follow my original idea about the checkered paper, the Echo Park SPRING GINGHAM DOTS AND STRIPES is a good choice.

Lastly if you don’t want to cut all the stripes like I did you can use a die like the PinkFresh Studio COLOR BLOCK STRIPES Die, and make your life easier.
