Get into the fall spirit with this October bullet journal spread, filled with warm autumn colors and simple seasonal touches.

Crafting the Perfect Cover Page for Your  October Bullet Journal Spread

October is here, and with it comes cozy fall vibes that call for warm, rich colors like browns, reds, and oranges.

Unfortunately, my wrist has started hurting again, so I’ll be avoiding any activities that could strain it in the coming months.

This gives me the perfect opportunity to explore more creative ways to use my washi tapes in my bullet journaling—and share some fun ideas for spreads, even if you’re not into drawing!

For this spread, I decided to get a little crafty with the cover page.

I began by making an interesting background using a dotted washi tape, then layering it with a script washi tape for some extra dimension.

I decorated the edge with pieces of floral tape, carefully cutting around the design.

Although some white background still shows, I don’t mind it—but if you prefer a cleaner look, you can add small pieces of tape to fill in any empty spots.

Technically, at this point, you could simply add the month and call your cover page complete.

But I wanted to bring in more fall details, so I added a pie sticker and a girl in a cozy fall outfit.

For the month title, I chose a dark orange paper to complement the autumn aesthetic.

Since I don’t like wasting pages, I decided to use the back of the trimmed cover page for my mood tracker.

When I made the cover, I didn’t think that the cuts would make the next page look a bit awkward. To fix this, I added another strip of floral washi to cover those edges.

The space on this page was tight, so I kept the mood tracker title simple.

I wrote “Mood” in large, warm orange letters, and paired it with the word “Trackers” in a delicate, thin script (well, I tried my best at calligraphy!).

For this mood tracker, I tried something new. I traced a circle using a candle and divided it into 32 sections.

At first, I attempted to measure the width of each piece with a pencil, but it wasn’t quite working.

Instead, I found it easier to keep dividing the sections in half until I had 32 triangles.

I decorated the extra section with washi tape and labeled each segment with a mood. To keep the fall vibes going, I added a small pumpkin sticker as a finishing touch.

Next up was the habit tracker. I used the same script washi tape along the side of the page, keeping in mind that this part is visible from the cover.

Initially, I decorated it with pumpkins, but they didn’t quite match the cover page, so I swapped them out for a girl figure.

Then, I created a table for my habits and marked each day accordingly.

Creating this month’s  Calendar, To-Do page, and Expenses page.

Then came the calendar spread.

I drew the grid and used polka dot washi tape to decorate the edges.

To fill in some of the empty calendar squares, I added fall-themed stickers for a cozy touch.

I even added a sticker at the beginning but had to trim it a bit to fit.

Finally, I worked on the “To Do” and “Expenses” pages.

For these, I placed a strip of rose-patterned washi tape across the middle, allowing it to decorate both pages at once.

I wrote the titles using the same dark orange marker and added a few decorative elements around the pages to tie everything together.

And just like that—my October bullet journal is complete!

Supplies you will need to make the October Bullet Journal Spread.

For this journal I used these Tombow markers:  026, 873, 912, 020, 899, 947, 993, 905. I also used Stabilo marker 88/89 and SAKURA Pigma Micron 01 Fineliner Pen. 

For the month I used the Sizzix Calendar WordsThinlits Die Set.

Unfortunately this is a discontinued die set. Too bad if you ask me, because it is perfect for journaling. But don’t worry though, there are many similar stamps and dies. 

One example you can use is the Stamperia Create Happiness Christmas Calendar, Monthly Clear Stamps.

The Washi tapes I used are the following from The Washi Tape Shop: Four Seasons Washi Tape Sticker Set, Copper Wide Washi/PET Tape,  Happy Journaling Washi Tape Set, Moment In Time Wide Washi/PET Tape.  

Sadly the Polka Dot one is no longer in stock. Don’t worry though, you can create the look by creating dots with your markers.
