September has arrived, ushering in a new school year and fresh organizational needs. Let’s embark on planning this school year together with a delightful September Bullet Journal Spread.

I’ve always considered September to be akin to the New Year, brimming with new goals as the school year kicks off, demanding a well-organized approach.

For this month, I settled on an umbrella theme, though I wavered between a beach umbrella and a standard one.

Given that it’s the first month of fall, I opted for the rain variety.

As the backdrop, I selected a charming floral washi tape featuring pastel orange and daisies, perfectly setting the stage for a subtle autumn vibe.

For the focal point, I employed an umbrella die. While you could certainly sketch an umbrella by hand on paper, I was eager to utilize this die.

 I love incorporating dies into projects beyond cardmaking; they yield such delightful results.

I opted for a lovely sage green color to complement the background. What’s remarkable about the paper I used is that it lends captivating depth, avoiding a flat appearance.

To fashion the umbrella handle, I used a nearly black paper.

With a gold marker, I highlighted some details to the handle and the umbrella’s tip.

I could have used the coordinating die for these components, but I chose simplicity.

Naturally, the cover page requires the month’s name. Using my dies, I crafted the word “September” using the same paper employed for the handle. And with that, the cover page is complete!

For the calendar, I utilized a light orange marker for the grid and a sparkly green marker for the days.

These two hues harmonize beautifully, both with each other and with the washi tape. To infuse additional color, I affixed a strip of floral washi tape along the side, an effortless and enjoyable method to embellish the page.

Adding a “To do” page, an “Expenses” page, and a “Tracker” page to the bullet journal.

 This month, I’ve introduced a dedicated To-Do page. Given that August was a quiet month, tasks have accumulated, prompting the addition of a whole page to maintain order.

Here, I included another umbrella in the down right corner. I opted not to incorporate washi tape on this one, as I felt it might be overwhelming.

However, I couldn’t resist adorning the bottom of the expenses tracker with some washi tape. I outlined the grid using the same markers as in the calendar, but this time, I used a black pen for the categories to lend them a more defined appearance.

Of course, I included a strip of washi tape and folded it to secure the excess on the back page, which is also dedicated to expenses.

For the mood tracker, I glued an umbrella to the bottom of the page and illustrated raindrops falling to it. It seems I’ve wholeheartedly embraced the fall theme after all.

I labeled each drop with the corresponding date and added a feelings guide and a spectrum of blue hues at the bottom of the page.

This month, I’m resuming the use of the water and walking tracker, though I’m unsure if the weather will cooperate for outdoor exercise. Time will tell, I suppose.

For the water consumption tracker, my plan is to draw a square every time I consume a glass of water.

Regarding the walking tracker, personally, I’ll mark “yes” or “no,” but this spread provides ample space to record daily kilometers walked or the number of steps taken. Additionally, if you engage in various types of exercise, you can note your activities for each day.

Materials I used to create the September bullet journal spread.

The washi tape I used to decorate the calendar is the Marguerite Wide Washi Tape, from the Washi Tape Shop. Because right now it is sold out, another great option you can try is the Champagne Floral Wide Washi Tape.

For the umbrella die, I used is the Spellbinders Raining Hearts Etched Dies From The Showered With Love Collection.

For the month I used the Sizzix Calendar WordsThinlits Die Set.

Unfortunately this is a discontinued die set. Too bad if you ask me, because it is perfect for journaling. But don’t worry though, there are many similar stamps and dies.

I would suggest the Concord & 9TH Month by Month die set for a similar result.  

The paper I used is from the Craft Consortium GRUNGE DARK TONES paper pad.

The markers I used for the mood tracker are the Tombow 407- Tiki Teal, 493- Reflex Blue, 451- Sky Blue, 555- Ultramarine, 533– Peacock Blue.

 For the rest of the pages I used Faber Castell metalics wanderlust and copper cabana and Stabilo’s No 88/26marker. 

Lastly, the journal I used is Tsuki ‘Suzume’ Limited Edition Bullet Journal .
