This is a shaker card for the most important person in your life: your mum. So let’s make together an Interactive Mother’s Day card!

Create the main elements for the Interactive Mother’s Day Card.

I started by painting the two beavers on the card.

When I bought this stamp set, my immediate thoughts were that I had to use this set for my mother’s birthday, but then I thought it would look better for Mother’s Day, so I made my mum a floral birthday card instead, which you can check out on my channel.

I used light brown markers for the main body and darker shades for the tail and legs.

Lastly, I added a light pink color on the nose and cheeks.

The idea I had for this card was to write with big letters the word Mum and add my message underneath.

Since I didn’t have a die big enough for the letters, I printed the word and cut the letters with my scissors.

Then with a pencil, I marked the perimeter of the letters on the back of the glitter paper and cut them. 

For the message of the card I used the message of the stamp set, “I love you so dam much”. At first, I used black ink to stamp it, but I felt it didn’t match the background, so I re-stamped it with pink ink and die-cut a banner.

Creating the floral arch for the Interactive Mother’s Day Card.

For the background, I chose a lovely floral peach paper from the new collection of Lawn Fawn.

I wanted this to be a shaker card, so I removed an arch from the middle of the cardstock.

Also, I die-cut a floral arch from white paper and painted it with my markers.

Next, I added glitter glue on the tips of one of the flowers, nothing special, the cheap kind kids use at school.

Keep in mind, because this type of glue is not too intense when it dries and, when it mixes with the marker, gives a green result rather than gold.

Since I wanted the perimeter of the arch to be glittery, I cut a second floral arch from glitter paper, and with scissors, I removed the extra flowers.

Of course, I didn’t throw them away, but I glued them on the painted flowers and then added the arch on top of it.

If you can see the white paper underneath the arch, you only have to patch the pieces with your markers.

Adding finishing touches for the card.

To decorate the background underneath the arch, I wanted to coordinate it with the patterned paper, so I used orange and pink ink to paint it.

 In order to glue the clear plastic for the window, I used double-sided tape because it is the most durable option for this material.

On top of that, I glued foam tape, for the inserts to have room to move and added gold sequins.

To finish the card, I glued the letters using as guide a triangle ruler to make sure they were straight. Glue first the Ms and then the U. That way, you can be sure that the U is perfectly centered.

Underneath, I glued the banner, and then I glued the arch and the figures.

I used both glue and double-sided tape just to be sure that everything would stick.

For the final touch, I secured the circles in the center of the flowers with glue, and the card was ready!

Materials I used to make the Interactive Mother’s Day Card.

For the beavers, I used Lawn Fawn SET SO DAM MUCH Clear Stamps and Dies. I painted them with Tombow markers 990-Light Sand, 947-Burnt Sienna, and lastly 850-Light Apricot.

The floral background paper I used is from the Lawn Fawn What’s Sewing On 12×12 Inch Collection Pack.

I also added a peach shade glitter paper. You can find a very similar shade to the one I used in the Memory Box DELICATE PASTEL GLITTER 6×6 Paper Pack.

To cut the flower arch, I used the Lawn Fawn Secret Garden Window Dies and painted the flowers with Tombow markers 192-Asparagus,  772-Dusty Rose, 912-Cherry, and lastly 379-Jade Green and added on top of it gold glitter glue.

For the arch,I painted the background for the window using two shades of Tim Holtz Distress inks: WILD HONEY and SALTWATER TAFFY. To finish the card, I added inside the shaker gold sequins.
